Privacy PolicyHope Again — Last updated: July 2026Hello.Hope Again was built with one intention: to help people navigating grief feel less alone. We take your trust seriously, and we want to be completely transparent about how we handle your information.Who we areHope Again is an independent app. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at [email protected].What information we collectWhen you use Hope Again, we collect information you give us directly:• Your name, email address, and password when you sign up
• Your age, city, gender, loss type, biography, interests, and profile photo
• Journal entries, Memory Corner entries and photos, Glimpses and photos
• Conversations between you and other users you connect with
• Connection requests you send or receiveWe also collect limited technical information automatically:• Your device's push notification token (to send you notifications, only if you allow it)
• Basic usage data needed to operate the appWhat we do NOT doWe want to be explicit about this:• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not share your personal information with third parties
• We do not read your journal entries, Memory Corner entries, or private messages
• We do not use third-party analytics tools to track your behaviour in the app
• Your personal entries exist solely for youHow we use your informationWe use the information we collect only to operate Hope Again:• To create and maintain your account
• To help you find and connect with other users going through grief
• To deliver messages and connection requests between users
• To send you push notifications (only if you enable them, and only for the notification types you choose)
• To store your private entries so you can access themHow your information is storedYour data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider, on servers located in Singapore. We use industry-standard security practices including row-level security, meaning each user can only access their own private data.Your private entries (journal, Memory Corner) are accessible only to you. Not even we can read them through the app.Sharing your informationHope Again is a social app, so some information is visible to other users by design:• Your name, profile photo, age, city, loss type, bio, and interests are visible to users you connect with
• Messages you send are visible to the person you send them to
• Glimpses you choose to mark as "Share with connections" are visible to your connections on your profileWe do not share your information with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.Your choices and controlsYou are in control of your data:• You can turn off push notifications for messages and connection requests in Settings
• You can hide yourself from Find a Friend by turning on Private Profile in Settings
• You can hide your city from your profile in Settings
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. This action is irreversible.Children's privacyHope Again is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it promptly.Changes to this policyIf we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify users through the app. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.Contact usEmail: [email protected]
